Isabella Yates
Born and raised in Warwickshire, U.K. Isabella moved to London in her early 20s to work in some of the world's top art galleries, before transitioning to the startup space. After some time away from art, in 2023 Isabella returned as an emerging artist. Her studio is based in Hertfordshire and she exhibited her first collection in the June of 23 which sold out 3 months after signing to a London gallery. Some of her recent pieces have since been featured in Condè Nast, House & Garden.
Working predominantly with oil paint Isabella’s first collections have had a distinct style characterised by textured layers and bold contrasting colours. Strongly influenced by the natural world Isabella has used flora to symbolise the paradoxical themes of strength and softness. The floral patterns alluding to a resilient softness while the bold, contrasting colours add an opposing power, yet elegance.
Isabella’s floral scapes symbolise leaning into our softness and taking the trajectory that reflects our true selves. Even if it’s the harder path. She is showing us that softness can be a force for rebellion, strength and courage. While also creating a much more beautiful and interesting environment to be in.
