Misha Waks

Misha Waks

Misha Waks worked for 15 years as a designer in various corporations, but in 2019 he decided to focus on art, treating it as a tool for addressing socially important issues.
In his work, Waks explores topics related to ecology, women’s rights, and minority rights. He draws inspiration from current events as well as images sourced from the internet, press, and television. The artist investigates concepts such as post-nature and the Anthropocene, examining the relationships between humans, nature, and each other.
His practice spans a variety of media – from painting and sculpture to installations, performance, and video art.

Waks lives and works in Warsaw, and his work is exhibited both in Poland and abroad. Over the past year, he has taken part in exhibitions such as Ban This Show at Fort Works Art in Fort Worth (USA), Waksyny at Cobalt in Warsaw, Spin Doctors at GG3 in Berlin, and The Eye Never Sleeps: Experiment in Bydgoszcz. His art has been shown alongside works by artists such as Guerrilla Girls, Nadya Tolokonnikova (Pussy Riot), and Swoon.
